Design and Manufacture of Custom Built Low Voltage Switchgear and Control Switch Panels. Utilising our considerable background knowledge in the design and manufacture of custom built and standard switch panel construction, Switchgear Technology can produce designs to suit specific customer requirements.


All our designs are based upon the fundamental principles of:

  • Flexibility of design to ensure ease of preassembly and to eradicate protracted delivery times.

  • Suitability for the application and ease of cabling and connection for the end user.

  • Serviceability and ease of modification on site to enable the equipment to adapt to changes in use.

Our flexible design principles are utilised within our sub-distribution board assemblies, which have been incorporated in free standing riser distribution LV Switch Panels for new projects, or for the modification of existing equipment where a sub-frame assembly has been installed within an existing carcass.

Our Main LV. Distribution Switchgear utilises the same flexible design principles as incorporated within our sub-distribution board assemblies ensuring an equally adaptable system.

Where required these may incorporate:

  • Adjustable gland plates and removable panel cross-members, where the existing site cables such as PILC or MICC cables are to be retained

  • Specialised interface busbars for the extension of existing Switchgear.

All our Main LV and sub-distribution assemblies are available with the following design features:

  • Segregation types available from Form 1 to Form 4.7 to BSEN 61439-2:2011.

  • Front and rear access formats available for operation and maintenance.

  • All distribution types may be configured for top and/or bottom entry cabling.

  • Ingress protection is available from IP31C to BSEN 60529:1992 (2013) as a standard but can be designed up to IP66W where required.

  • Our flexible approach allows for the utilisation of various types of OEM equipment within our enclosures to meet customers particular specifications

  • Busbars may be rated from 200A to 6300A with 100% or 200% rated neutral and would be braced to meet the ultimate fault capacity of the system.

  • Panels are would be degreased and finished in a hard wearing epoxy powder texture finish to RAL7035 Light Grey as standard, however the panels may be finished in any colour to suit.
